1 Scope This European standard specifies the characteristics of adjustable rod-ends consisting of:   a self-aligning ball bearing with self-lubricating liner (EN 4614);   a rod-end with threaded shank with an optional longitudinal groove for locking purposes. They are intended for use in fixed or moving parts of the aircraft structure and their control mechanisms.

4 Requirements 4.1 Configuration, dimensions, tolerances and mass Configuration, dimensions, tolerances and mass shall be according to Figure 1 and Table 1 Table 1: Dimensions and tolerances are expressed in millimetres (inches). Figure 1: Dimensions and tolerances for Ra max. are expressed in μm (μin). Values apply after surface treatment. 4.2 Surface roughness Surface roughness shall be according to Figure 1. Surface roughness is measured before surface treatment.4.5 Material Liner: PTFE liner (see product standard EN 4614). Inner ring: see product standard EN 4614. Outer ring: see product standard EN 4614. Rod-end body: see AMS 5643, hardness 35 ≤ HRC ≤ 42.
4.6 Surface treatment Surface treatment shall be as defined in chapter 5 (designation) with following codes:   rod-end body:   code T: passivated according to ISO 8074;   code P: cadmium plating and chromating according to EN 2133, 10 μm to 20 μm (400 μin to 800 μin);   except: threads, 5 μm to 15 μm (200 μin to 600 μin);   bearing: see EN 4614, code T.
6 Marking Marking shall be according to EN 2424, style A. 7 Technical specification Technical specification shall be according to EN 2068. 8 Quality management system The manufacturer’s operations shall be an approved production organisation for aerospace products and shall demonstrate that it has implemented and is able to maintain a quality management system (e.g. according to EN 9100 or an equivalent aerospace accepted and established quality management system) The qualification procedure for aerospace standard products (e.g. according to EN 9133 or an equivalent aerospace accepted and established qualification procedure) shall be used and documented according to the specified tests if not otherwise agreed between customer and supplier.BS EN 6056 pdf download.
