4.2 Basic requirements 4.2.1 The applicant shall pr ovide a Ii st of the devices of the FDAS and those devices not covered by EN 54 shall be declared as 1 or component type 2. 4.2.2 T he different FDAS configurations intended to be used shall be described within the applicant’s documentation. 4.2.3 All the different declared by the applicant shall be considered and representative configurations shall be assessed to meet th e requirements of this document. Representative configurations are defined by agreement between the applicant and the testing NOTE authority. 4.2.4 1 component shall be powered directly or indirect ly by a PSE which conforms to the requirements in EN 54-4 except for some radio link components in accor dan ce with EN 54-25 which may be powered by batteries. Each type 1 component sha ll meet the requirements of the re l evant part of EN 54. 4.2.5 In the case whe re the component type 1 is not covered by EN 54 series it shall meet the fo llowin g: conformity of the fu n ctionality (indication , contro l, activation) as declared by the component manufacturer: this functionality shall be consistent with the purpose of a F DAS. Th e applicant shall provide the means to check the fu nctionality; a) compliance to EN 50130-4 El ectromagnetic compatibility; compliance to EN 50130-5; the applicant shall declare the environmental class. T he measurements or insp ections are made before , during (if necessary) and after testing. T here shall be no change in the f unctioning of the equipment and no significant change in a ny measurements , which also shall remain within specification. Al ternatively the component may comply with the environmental clauses incl uded in an appropriate EN 54 part (refer to environmental tests in EN 54-1:2011 Clause 5 to select the appropriate part). NOTE A component not covered by an EN 54 standard may be covered by a European Assessment Document.
5.3.2 Configuration at fie ld lev el for assessment From the assessment of documentation the r elevant configuration(s ) shall be subm i tted for testing. All different types of type 1 componen ts and type 2 componen ts connected to CIE or VACIE used in t he configuration shall be con sidered (see An ne x B) In case there are seve ral TP of the at l east one TP shall be u sed for testi n g. T he input and output connections shall be made in accordance wit h the manufacturer’s inst ructions. T he different TP cha racteristics prov i ded by the applicant shall be cons i dered and testing shall be carried out with t he TP characteristic tha t is considered to be th e worst case.
